Chrome OS Notebook Cr-48
Google sent me a Cr-48 for the Pilot Program. So posting this from it. First impressions are very positive. I was hoping for a netbook, but the Cr-48 is actually a 12.1" Notebook. There are a few rough edges which will be worked out by the Google team once these become generally available next year.

Been posting more to Twitter than this Blog
Since July 2010, I have been posting to Twitter more than to this blog. Since Twitter is more convenient to access from my computers and my mobile smartphone it seems to be taking over. Is this a trend or just a convenience? I think blogs are still useful but the advent of smartphones has made the micro-blogging technique more productive and accessible anywhere and anytime.
I do like blogs since you are not limited to 140 characters and which allows you to post more expressive content. But lately, it seems micro-blogging is just more convenient.

Cheapest Mobile Data Plan Around
Virgin Mobile's new $25 per month no-contract plan is an unlimited data, email, text, web plan with 300 talk minutes per month. Based on what I have seen, this is the cheapest data plan on the market today.
The Next Apple TV
Looks like Apple is making another attempt at a TV setup. "The next Apple TV". The last one was a crippled version of Mac OS X. This one is a stripped down version of the iPhone OS. Therefore, I am not sure it will work. This is Apple's version of the 'seeing what sticks' approach.

Paying Kids to Perform In School
I was given merit money for doing well in school as a kid. As a parent, it is good to see this type of behavior under serious research to evaluate its effectiveness. "Should Kids Be Bribed to do well in school?" I think it works and I would be curious see the results.
The SeaOrbiter
I saw this recently and thought it was an incredible design both visually and technologically. "One giant leap for ocean exploration". It looks like something you would expect from the 21st century. Based on what I have read, it may launch in 2011. Here is the SeaOrbiter project site.

Portable Fuel Cell Technology Available Today
Check out Horizon Portable Fuel Cell products. I first saw this here. This stuff is awesome and worth monitoring. If it delivers what is promised at a reasonable price, then it appears that 2010 will be a great year for practical fuel cells and alternative energy. What impresses me the most is that these HydroPak and MiniPak only require water as input and will extract the hydrogen for you. Read the specs, this stuff looks very compelling. I hope they get it right and price it for consumers in 2010.
