Flexible Body Armor

The US skiwear company, Spyder, has developed a new material that is being tested by Olympic skiers at the Turin Winter Olympics 2006. The material is flexible and stiffens upon impact according to the New Scientist article "US and Canadian skiers get smart armour". This technology has a lot of future implications both private and military.
